Most buildings on campus are heated using a glycol and/or hot water heat system or with low pressure steam. The systems may utilize radiant heat i.e.: baseboard or unit heaters, hot air systems or a combination of both. Glycol systems use non-toxic propylene glycol dyed yellow or ethylene glycol dyed pink. The standard heating season is from October to April, although actual temperature projections will determine the beginning and end of the seasons. Heat is provided to maintain interior temperatures within the recommended range of 22 degrees.
Issues with heating can be caused by a multitude of reasons. Contact CSC, who will assist with determining the appropriate solution.
